In honor of August being National Sandwich Month, LA Weekly’s food blog “Squid Ink” ranked the top 31 sandwiches in Los Angeles.
Our famous Black Pastrami Reuben is slotted at number 8.
“There are dozens of sandwiches on Brent’s massive menu, but the iconic sandwich is the Black Pastrami Reuben,” the blog writes.
“It features the same crust rye bread … and the same soft, floppy, thinly-sliced, moderately peppered meat that’s on the regular pastrami sandwich, only here, it’s heaped with warm sauerkraut, melted Swiss cheese and sweet creamy Russian dressing.”
