Literally translating as the “Day of Shouting,” Rosh Hashanah is a two-day celebration that marks the Jewish New Year. Many popular and traditional dishes served up during this festival of new beginnings include honey cakes, chiffon cakes, apples & honey–all of which symbolize a sweet, upcoming new year.
During the Jewish New Year, you can’t have sweet without the savory! That’s why Brent’s Deli also provides a bounty of rich, flavorful entrees and sides such as our half-roasted chicken brisket, matzo ball soup, Grandma Eva’s noodle kugel, string beans, roasted potatoes, chopped liver, and more. This year, all of these mouth-watering recipes will be offered at a special Rosh Hashanah dinner Brent’s Deli will be hosting for those who want to dine in at the restaurant on Friday 09/15/2023.
For breaking bread with family and friends, the bakery at Brent’s Deli is your go-to for any round or braided challah in your choice of plain, chocolate chip, or raisin.

Known as the holiest day of the year in the Jewish tradition, Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement. Centered around themes of atonement and repentance, this holy day is usually honored with a 25-hour fasting period, prayer, and synagogue services.
After the fasting period, feasting and celebrating commences. Typical dishes for Yom Kippur generally include fish platters and meat trays–our specialty since opening our doors in 1967. To cleanse the palate, fresh fruit trays are also an available option in addition to items like our Lazy Susan, finger sandwiches, and salad trays. Whether you’re feeding 20 or 200 at your celebration this year, Brent’s Deli will add flavors and smiles abound for a memorable event.
